Christmas is over- wtf? @ 08:21 pm

Current Mood: content content

Yeah, I've been home a few days. It's been pretty busy. A few days after I got home, I went to my friend Ben's 20th birthday party. First, I met up with Mark at Starbucks and it was like the greatest reunitement I've ever had. He makes me so happy, even when contact is lame, we're still really close. :D Anyway, we went to the party and it was a blast. I was really weary about going, and I flip-flopped between wanting to and not wanting to go all day, but then Mark convinced me, and I'm glad he did. I met some new people, reconnected with those I hadn't talked to in a while, and even saw two people I went to ELEMENTARY SCHOOL with, and we caught up too. I also played one song on Guitar Hero 3...I'm so not the best at that...but whatever. A lot of pictures were taken, and at the end of the exhausting night, I was super happy I got invited.

The next day was Christmas Eve, and I spent it entirely with my family. Here's where I SHOULD moan and groan about what a lousy time it was, but it wasn't. I have nothing bad to say. We went ice-skating, something I haven't done really since 9th grade. I was really good -took lessons and everything- but then 10th grade rolled around and too much theater-related and lacrosse-related things got in the way. It was nice to get back out there on my own set of skates. I think I'll bring them back to NY when I go in January. So we spent a good three hours skating, and by the end Miranda (sister) was getting really good! She's going to take lessons just like I did, and hopefully she'll take to it and get really good. After that we ate dinner at TGIFridays and then saw some local Christmas lights. That was a good end to Christmas Eve.

Christmas rolled around at 6:46 AM when my sister burst through my bedroom door announcing that Santa (holy shit- I spelled Satan at first...creepy) arrived. I opened up my gifts and this is a rough estimate: speakers for my Mac, old Nickelodeon shows on DVD (Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, and Doug), the 1st season of Spongebob on DVD, Wall-E and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, two books (already finished), some jewelry, two jewelry boxes, six pairs of earrings (which I later upped to 22 pairs today when I bought some more), gift cards galore, the Sims 2 for Mac, some nail polish, and some other random things were in my stocking. Today, however, my mom took me shopping and I got two pairs of pants, some shirts, and a sweater from Old Navy, a rainbow plaid pair of Converse, some new sneakers for when I work out, and ROCK BAND. It was SO cheap since it's old now and the world has moved on to Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. I couldn't care less, just as long as I can rock out to some Weezer and Foo Fighters. :D

Yesterday my family and I spent even more time together when we went to the Nashville Predators/Detroit Red Wings hockey game. We ended up seated in the third level; highest we've sat in a while, but I liked it. It was like I had an areal shot of the game. The Wings lost :(, but the Predators played REALLY sloppily. Mark was there, too, and he waved to me from across the arena. It was sweet.

As for today, I went shopping, and now I'm having a long conversation with Ricardo. First since I've been home. My Mac was sent far, far away since I accidentally stuck a mini-disk into the drive and it got lodged (fuck my life) so hopefully that'll be back in "10-14 business days". God help me if it takes THAT long. Oh well. On to a relaxing week! I hope everyone's doing well!
